Invitation to Join a Spirit-Centered Wisdom Circle

We are several healing practitioners coming together with the desire to create a spirit-centered wisdom circle, and we are looking to our community to find like-minded souls who are interested in sharing this goal. We invite those of you who have your own experience/knowledge and/or practice in healing, ancient disciplines, earth-based practices, shamanism, or any other modality that respects the natural laws of the universe to join us on this journey, using each of our individual strengths to deepen our understanding of the world. We welcome all “elders” with a deep sense of integrity and a common objective of healing the earth and ourselves in order to leave future generations a legacy of health and happiness, and life in harmony with the universe.

Under the aegis of Earth Elders Endeavors, this wisdom circle will strive to embody the group’s aspiration to live: “An Ancient Way of Knowing, for a Present Way of Being” and “Nature as Teacher and Timeless Wisdom for Self, Community and Planetary Healing.”

Founders (in no particular order): Donna Merrill, RN, BSN, Registered Herbalist, AHG; Sarah Dickinson Murray, Natural Health Consultant; Tracy Halterman, LMT, Integrative Body Work; Jill Snyder, CMT, Student of life.

Please contact Donna directly with your name, practice, email and phone number if you are interested in joining the group. We will contact you soon to inform you about the agenda of the first meeting, participation fee and other logistics. Thank you for your interest in serving the greater good.

Fall, 2010

Presented by Donna M. Merrill, RN, BSN, Registered Herbalist, AHG

All classes, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., free and open to the public.

September
9/13. Herbs for Colds, Flu, Sinusitis & Bronchitis

Suffering from chronic colds or sinusitis? Don’t know what to do when it comes to flu prevention and treatment? Come learn herbal treatments for colds, allergies, sinus infections, sore throats, laryngitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Learn herbs to strengthen the immune system for people who get frequent colds. This includes a separate handout on herbs for flu, in addition to the regular handout.

9/27. Herbal Relief for Stress, Insomnia, Anxiety & Depression

Are you feeling stressed and blue with fall’s shorter days and school resuming? Come learn the herbal remedies used for these conditions. We cannot talk about stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia without discussing nutrition and lifestyle choices. We give lip service to the degree of illness caused by stress, when clearly most chronic illness is caused by the body’s inability to balance the demands we place on it.

November
11/1. Herbal Remedies for Digestive Problems

How well we digest, assimilate, and eliminate what we eat often leads to either health or disease. We will discuss helpful herbs for the common problems, such as chronic reflux (GERD), diarrhea, constipation and irritable bowel syndrome. Learn about leaky gut syndrome and how this condition can lead to many chronic diseases like migraines, arthritis, and auto-immune diseases. Herbs are useful for treating both the symptoms and causes of these conditions.

11/15. Skin Diseases from Acne to Psoriasis
In “whole body” medicine the skin is seen as an organ of vicarious elimination thus reflecting a larger disorder within the body when its organs of elimination lose their ability to detoxify the end products of unhealthy diet, environmental contaminants, as well as mental and physical stress leading to a breakdown in tissue integrity. Come learn natural strategies to handle common chronic skin disorders.
